Marine Turtles Viewing

All Marine Turtles are endangered and it is important not to disturb, harass or threaten them in any way. In most countries where breeding occurs, turtles are protected and viewing them is covered by very strict Regulations.

Do not try to go turtle viewing on your own - guided tours are the easiest and best for the species as well. The best viewing is during the nesting and hatching seasons, where the turtles come onto certain beaches to lay their eggs, and later the eggs hatch and the hatchlings make their dash to the safety of the sea.

Care must be taken not to disturb these creatures, and often most of or the best activity takes place at night - organized and guided tours are then essential.

Individual swimming animals may be encountered from boats at sea or by divers and snorkellers.
